Location-wise, it’s just a short drive from Manchester Airport and well connected to nearby towns, it’s easy for guests travelling from further afield but still feels like a proper countryside escape.
The Tipi
The star of the show is the double-hat tipi. It’s a blank canvas for couples to make their own, whether that’s boho florals and festoon lights or a more minimalist setup. The space seats around 100 for the wedding breakfast and can host up to 180 for the evening party, so it never feels too empty or too cramped.
It’s a year-round space too. With built-in heating and weatherproofing, you don’t need perfect sunshine for the day to run smoothly. It’s just as cosy in autumn and winter as it is light and airy in summer.

Hannah and Adam’s wedding at Rylands Farmhouse showed exactly how well this venue suits couples who want a relaxed and energetic celebration.
They first discovered my work while guests at a friend’s wedding and loved how I capture movement, atmosphere and the dance floor. As huge music fans, they wanted their day to feel more like a party than a traditional wedding, and Rylands was the perfect place for it.
Both got ready on site. Hannah spent the morning in the Shepherd’s Hut, a cosy little hideaway tucked behind the main house, while Adam prepared in the farmhouse. Their ceremony was held inside the tipi, and as soon as they said “I do” the celebrations kicked off. Live music from Franchesqua had everyone dancing outside before the drinks had even been served.
There were no speeches and no formal sit-down meal. The entire day was built around celebrating with friends and family. Guests moved inside for the first dance and the dance floor stayed full from that point on.
I took Hannah and Adam away briefly for some relaxed portraits in the afternoon and again later in the evening when the golden hour light was perfect. After that it was straight back to the action, with guests enjoying pizza outside and others dancing late into the night.
It was a brilliant example of how Rylands Farmhouse is the perfect choice for couples who want their wedding to be fun, informal and completely focused on the people and the atmosphere.
