Iscoyd Park Real Wedding

Real Wedding at Iscoyd Park

Monica and Josh celebrated their Iscoyd Park wedding surrounded by friends and family at this beautiful country house venue on the borders of Shropshire, Cheshire and North Wales.

Set in peaceful countryside just outside the market town of Whitchurch, Iscoyd Park is known for its relaxed atmosphere, elegant interiors and gardens that work perfectly for a wedding day that flows naturally from ceremony to evening party.

Spring was in the air for Monica and Josh’s Iscoyd Park wedding.

I met Monica as she was getting ready in the house, while Josh and the lads arrived and finished their final touches in the library. Monica looked amazing in her dress as she wowed her dad and brother with her reveal.

They had a beautiful ceremony with a couple of lovely readings from close friends, before the newlyweds were showered with confetti from their guests.

Drinks reception and canapés followed in the back gardens of Iscoyd Park, before I took Monica and Josh for a quick stroll around the grounds and got some lovely shots of them both.

Speeches from Josh, his best man and Monica’s dad had everyone in tears and laughter!

Then it was time for the the party! Monica and Josh were soon joined by friends and family on the dance floor, before Monica slipped into her evening dress and made her way back in to party the night away.

Such a lovely day with the nicest couple. I wish them both all the happiness in the world.

About Iscoyd Park

Iscoyd Park is a privately owned country house wedding venue set within landscaped gardens and countryside.

The house dates back to the early eighteenth century and has been owned by the Godsal family since the nineteenth century. Today the estate hosts weddings on an exclusive use basis, meaning couples and their guests have the house and grounds to themselves throughout the celebration.

It manages to feel elegant without being formal, and the whole place has more of a relaxed house party atmosphere than a traditional hotel venue.

Ceremonies at Iscoyd Park

Most ceremonies take place in the Garden Room, a bright space connected to the house that can seat around 130 guests.

Large windows bring plenty of natural light into the room and look out across the gardens, creating a calm setting for the ceremony and excellent conditions for photography.

Outdoor ceremonies are also possible within the grounds when the weather allows.

Drinks Reception and Gardens

After the ceremony the celebrations usually move outside.

Guests gather on the terrace and lawns for drinks while the couple take a short walk through the grounds for portraits. The gardens surrounding the house provide plenty of space for guests to relax before everyone heads inside for dinner.

Because everything sits close together, the day moves naturally from one part of the celebration to the next.

Wedding Breakfast and Speeches

The wedding breakfast takes place inside the house where guests gather together for dinner.

Once everyone is seated the atmosphere quickly builds as speeches begin and stories are shared around the room. These moments often produce some of the most genuine reactions of the day.

Evening Reception

As evening arrives the focus turns to music and dancing.

The house provides space for the dance floor while guests continue to move between indoor areas and the gardens as the party carries on into the night.

Accommodation at Iscoyd Park

One of the big advantages of an Iscoyd Park wedding is the accommodation available on site.

The house offers eighteen bedrooms which allow close friends and family to stay overnight. Within the grounds there is also the distinctive Showman’s Wagon, a unique place to stay tucked away within the estate.

Many couples also begin their celebrations the evening before the wedding. A cottage within the grounds sleeps up to ten guests, giving couples and their closest friends somewhere to stay together ahead of the wedding day.

Photography at Iscoyd Park

For photography, Iscoyd Park offers a great mix of locations without needing to travel far from the celebrations.

The gardens and lawns provide relaxed outdoor settings for portraits while the front of the house creates a strong backdrop for group photographs and couple portraits. The surrounding countryside also offers peaceful spots for portraits before returning to the party.

Because the ceremony space, gardens and reception areas are close together it is easy to capture natural moments throughout the day without interrupting the celebration.

Planning an Iscoyd Park Wedding

One of the reasons couples choose Iscoyd Park is how smoothly the day flows.

Ceremony, drinks reception, dinner and the evening party all take place around the house and gardens, which allows guests to enjoy the celebration without travelling between different locations.

The result is a relaxed atmosphere where everyone can focus on enjoying the day together.
